Founded in 1890 as The National Association of Life Underwriters (NALU), NAIFA is one of the nation’s oldest and largest associations representing the interests of insurance professionals from every Congressional district in the United States. NAIFA members assist consumers by focusing their practices on one or more of the following: life insurance and annuities, health insurance and employee benefits, multi-line, and financial advising and investments. Issues

  • NAIFA-NJ supports a bill,  A-1263/S-1914, sent to the governor's desk prohibiting stranger-originated life insurance (STOLI) transactions. 
  • NAIFA-NJ supports a bill, A-3817, that would require a health care provider participating in carrier network to give notice to a covered person of the provider's referral to an out-of-network provider.
  • New Jersey has proposed a strict fiduciary rule that would apply to broker-dealers and their registered representatives. The governor has delayed action on the proposal until after the COVID-19 state of emergency lifts for New Jersey.
