As a music professor for over 20 years, Jill Van Nostrand never imagined a career in insurance and financial services. However, when a family member developed a serious illness, she learned all she could about financial planning. In helping her family navigate the financial strain, she realized she could help others in her community in the same way. In 2018, she became a financial advisor with NAIFA Financial Security Champion Certified Financial Services.

NAIFA and the Society of Financial Service Professionals are proud to host the return of the Advanced Practice Center Symposium on Thursday, September 29 from 1 to 5 pm eastern. Taking place at The Radnor Hotel in the Greater Philadelphia Area, the event will also be livestreamed for those not in the area. Continuing Education Credits are being offered for both attendance options.

NAIFA is currently accepting nominations for NAIFA Quality Awards (NQA), NAIFA Diversity Champion Award, Advisor Today’s 4 Under 40, Terry Headley Lifetime Defender Award, YAT Leader of the Year, and John Newton Russell. All award deadlines are July 31, 2022.

The Board of NAIFA-New Jersey is proud to announce that the state chapter's annual meeting will be held on October 19, 2021. The event will be held from 9 am - 12 pm as a virtual event for the health of all participants.

September is Life Insurance Awareness Month and I want to make it a celebration of life.  When we our clients think of life insurance, they tend to focus on morbidity.  Instead, lets view insurance differently this year.  We need to refocus our approach for this year’s awareness campaign and celebrate life.   After all, that’s what life insurance does. It is our way of leaving our imprint on life.  It is one way we can be sure we are remembered for generations to come.  It is one way we can pay tribute to the life we lead.

It's with a heavy heart that we inform NAIFA-New Jersey members that NAIFA-New Jersey's Past President and former lobbyist, Russell (Russ) Francis Bent has passed away at the age of 90.

Diego A. Correa serves as the Membership Chair and Treasurer on the NAIFA-New Jersey Board and has been a loyal NAIFA member since 2020. He is a Sales Director/Financial Advisor with Primary Financial, in Saddle Brook, NJ. Thank you, Diego, for your loyal service and leadership to our industry and association. Join NAIFA-New Jersey Friday, June 4th at 9:30 a.m. EST (Rain Date June 18th) for a Pyramid Mountain Trail Inspiration Hike! Take this 3 hour inspirational hike that includes rocky footpaths, several streams, interesting glacial erratic like Tripod Rock and Bear Rock, and two overlooks. During the hike we will share sales ideas and motivational topics related to business, life and health. Please come prepared to discuss the biggest challenge you are having. This hike is around 4.4 miles roundtrip, has a moderate trail surface and elevation gain, and one slightly difficult rocky descent. We can't wait to see you there!
